I am not sure this is the direction that railscasts should go in... there are plenty of good books on this subject, it love that Ryan provides the rails community with insights into smaller aspects of developing in rails.

Great idea. I would love to see some of the popular gems in it (haml, rspec + cucumber, maybe devise and/or any form of openid or omniauth-based authentication). What about demonstrating the complete BDD cycle in a real application? I would really appreciate it.

@pmgraham That is for Rails 2, not Rails 3. Also, in the comment before yours someone said 'I have read on several locations that scaffolding is not the way to build a production application. So having a series of screencasts which demonstrate a more suitable approach would be great....'
