Wow, the spam has really landed on Railscasts! I wonder what these people think they are achieving with it.
I think that it would be a cool episode to try and lower the barrier for entry in terms of getting more people involved in the actual development of Rails. I think the first step in this is helping people understand how everything fits together. When first coming to the Ruby world there are a lot of concepts flying around and it can seem like a bit of a puzzle to figure out where all of these words fit together (Rails, Rack, Metal, Engines, Plugins, Gems etc etc) So a kind of "current state of the art" episode would be helpful for newbies I think, and you could look to extend the idea for more experienced developers that maybe would like to get involved in the actual project itself but at the moment only build things with it. What do you think?

I find knowing which module to look in quite tricky - for example, validations.rb automatically overrides many methods in base.rb using alias_method_chain. Would appreciate any tips on how to figure out which modules are included when.
