Internationalizing Rails application using Tr8n crowdsourced translation engine [updated]

One of the best ways to go about translating your web site into multiple foreign languages is to crowd source the translation process to the site users. Facebook has a very elegant solution for doing this, and now the Rails community has a similar tool. Tr8n crowdsourced translation engine does most of what Facebook translations application does and even more in some areas (due to the beauty and power of the Ruby language). Give it a try: https://github.com/berk/tr8n It does have a tiny bit of a learning curve to get it integrated. So it would be great to see an example from Ryan where he would set up a new rails app and translate it into 5 languages using Google suggestions (built into Tr8n) in a matter of 5 minutes. PS. Tr8n comes with over 250 languages out of the box.

It would be great to see how to incorporate OAuth into your Rails site, so you can offer 3rd party sites access to the content on your site. Specifically on how to setup your site as an OAuth ServiceProvider.

The documentation out there for `oauth-plugin' isn't great, and the few tutorials that are out there (the most recent was before 3.1 I believe) aren't very good. Rails has built-in support for single table inheritance (STI) but there is a broader pattern that is *very* useful in a CRUD, tree-like application design: the multiple (or class) table inheritance (CTI). It allows for the "representation of an inheritance hierarchy with one table for each class" (Martin Fowler), emulating on the database the objects relationships familiar to any rubyist, and enables sweet accessors through the models. There is no built-in support but one can emulate it. There is even a plugin (class_table_inheritance by sava) on this purpose.
